Meet Pam and Mike! They recently joined the Barley Woods Cornerstone Community in Fredericksburg and are loving their new home and lifestyle.  Just like you and many of our homeowners, they were ready to get rid of that two-story home, the yard work, and all that home maintenance that comes with an older home. On their first visit to Barley Woods to tour the community and look at all the different floor plan options,  Pam and Mike immediately fell in love with our single-story Charles floor plan. With beautiful features, timely and lasting design, and add-on options like a lower level, a sunroom, and a den, the choice to right-size couldn’t have been easier.

With an abundance of living space in the great room, kitchen, and dining area, Pam and Mike knew they’d have enough room and more to have their children and grandchildren over for more visits. Best of all, the home’s beautiful, open-concept layout lets Pam cook and prepare meals while never missing a conversation when company is sitting around the fireplace.  

Speaking of space, Pam and Mike opted to add the finished lower level, which makes family and friend gatherings even easier and more fun. Especially after a big meal together, the huge recreation room downstairs is the perfect place to watch TV, play games, or just lounge and talk! Not to mention, the bedroom is just as large as the master, and even has its own bathroom for company sleepovers. Best of all, Pam now has her own personal hobby space in the lower level.  “It’s the perfect place for my sewing area with tons of natural light! I love it!”  

Another feature that makes this lower level space so convenient is its use of storage — a large storage room in the lower level means that Pam and Mike don’t have to use an attic, and can easily get to everything they need.

One piece of advice that Pam and Mike would like to offer potential homeowners looking at the Charles is to get the door that goes from the master bathroom to the laundry room: “It’s so convenient, we love it!”

 Now that the weather’s warmer, Pam and Mike love to spend time sitting out on their back porch. Their favorite kind of night includes enjoying cocktails and chicken on the grill under the spring sky (sounds like the dream to us)!
