The Scoop on Pet Friendly Living
It’s a fact that Cornerstone Homes builds communities with a focus on health and wellness amenities. But we don’t stop there. As experts in 55+ active adult living, we know that as empty nesters, your four-legged family members are a special part of the family. Living with dogs (or cats but we’ll just talk about dogs here!) is not only beneficial for your health and wellness, but dogs tend to keep life interesting.
Bringing a dog into your home will mean that he or she will always greet you with enthusiasm upon your return, follow you around, and hopefully, listen to your commands! Unlike a teenager, whose mood can change on a dime, dogs are reliably happy, affectionate and loyal!
Cornerstone’s thoughtfully designed amenities in all communities are created with not only our homeowner’s needs in mind but also their companions. Four legged in this case.
Walking trails: Whether it’s along the tree-lined sidewalks or through wooded trails and parks, we make sure your pet has ample space to walk and smell the roses or all those other things they like to smell. As we all know walking is great for your health. And as empty nesters, taking a walk with your pet is also a great way to meet your new neighbors!
Corner Pup Parks: In several neighborhoods, The Grove at Lucks Lane and Barley Woods, we have designated play parks just for Fido. Exercise equipment and shaded space to meet up with other neighborhood dogs to socialize and for you to catch up with your neighbors.
Outdoor Gathering Spaces: Throughout all communities there are special gathering spaces under a shade tree or a covered pavilion along the walkways with benches to sit a spell and catch your breath or meet your neighbor and their dogs.
Corner Patch Gardens: Always a favorite spot on your walks with Fido to stop and see what’s growing.
Trash Cans & Scoop Bags: We got ‘em. We do require the “scoop” rule and make sure there are pet friendly bags and trash cans along the way for Fido.
With all these different places to walk your dog, there are many opportunities to change up your routine when you are not inside snuggling and loving Fido. Get up, get out and enjoy the fresh air. You’ll both enjoy and benefit from the exercise! And who knows who you might meet today … and make a new friend.
