Design Center Frequently Asked Questions

Building a new home comes with plenty of exciting decisions and a few questions along the way. We sat down with our Design Consultant, Liza, to share answers to some frequently asked questions about the Cornerstone Homes Design Center experience.

Q. What should I expect from my design selections experience?

A. During your design selections appointment, our Design Consultant, Liza, will guide you through the process by assisting and sharing knowledge of the products Cornerstone Homes has to offer. She will help you personalize a home that fits your lifestyle and investment range. Prior to your design selections appointment, you will receive a link to an online design tool, which displays all offerings and pricing. This helps prepare you for your design selections appointment where you will view the samples in person and finalize your personal selections.

Q. Will you help me stay within my target price investment?

A. As your Design Consultant, Liza will help you navigate selections with your target investment in mind, offering options that balance your personal lifestyle, function, and value. She will guide you toward design options that align with your vision and your investment range.

Q. What is included in the gourmet kitchen?

A. Premium maple cabinetry, concealed trash storage for a clutter-free kitchen, glass-front display cabinet perfect for showcasing your collectables, oversized drawers beneath the cooktop for convenient storage of pots and pans, corner cabinet with a “lazy susan”, providing optimal organization (if applicable). Additionally, a full suite of upgraded appliances including a sleek built-in cooktop for a seamless countertop design, a stainless-steel range hood, and a wall-mounted oven and microwave for effortless access.

Q. What are the differences between granite and quartz countertops?

A. Granite and quartz differ mainly in appearance and maintenance. Granite is a natural stone with unique patterns and high heat resistance. However, granite requires regular sealing. Quartz is an engineered stone, offering more consistent variation. It is low maintenance but less heat tolerance than granite. Both granite and quartz countertops are gorgeous options that will bring your kitchen or bathroom to life.

Q. What is the difference between engineered hardwood and luxury vinyl plank (LVP) flooring?

A. LVP and hardwood vary in material and performance. LVP is a water resistant, durable vinyl that’s easy to maintain and ideal for high-traffic or moisture prone areas. Engineered hardwood offers a real wood look and feel with added stability but requires more care and is less moisture resistant.
