Holiday Recipes For Gathering with Friends and Family
The Amenity That Keeps On Growing and Giving | Summer in the Corner Patch Garden
At Cornerstone Homes, our gardens are the heart of each community — they promote a healthy lifestyle for you, provide delicious fresh ingredients for your healthy meals, and they connect neighbors around food! It’s safe to say the homeowners ❤️ the bountiful Corner Patch Gardens! You will too!
There is always an incredible lineup of cooking demos at the gardens, where you can mingle with your friends, harvest the seasonal produce to take home to cook in your kitchen, and more than likely learn something new about gardening and cooking from Sean (the Corner Patch farmer). He is a wealth of information and very creative in his cooking! With the sunshine and balmy weather, there’s no better time to experience the magic of what’s growing!
What’s next in the Garden? If you want to throw an end-of-summer bash for your friends in your courtyard or prepare a tasty meal for visiting family, you’ve come to the perfect place to sample and get ideas to cook what’s growing and ready to pick now. Here is what Sean is cooking up for August. And Sean usually has a few surprises in addition to what is listed here!
●Salad: zucchini salad with shredded zucchini, carrots, and tomatoes with herbs
●Small Plate: Italian zucchini pasta with cold pasta, mushrooms, olives, broccoli, and onions
●Dip: crunchy zucchini dip
●Main Dish: zucchini fritters with cheese
●Cocktail: herbal sangria
●Flavored Water: lemon/lime twist water
August Cooking Social Events at Cornerstone Homes Communities:
Barley Woods, August 20 from 5:30 to 7:00 pm
Villas at Ashlake, August 21 from 5:30 to 7:00 pm
The Cove at Magnolia Lakes, August 22 from 5:30 to 7:00 pm
The Corner Patch Gardens not only contain seasonal veggies but also perimeter perennial plantings such as herbs and flowers; shrubs and trees such as blueberries, haksap, apples, pears, cherries, blackberries, grapes, hops, and kiwis! (*Varies by community)
If you like the sound of this scrumptious menu, then you’ll love how it tastes… Living in a Cornerstone Homes community is all about enjoying life to it’s fullest. We like to think of our garden socials as - part wellness, part happy hour! And anyone who knows the difference between a supermarket tomato in January and one fresh from the garden in the summer will welcome the Corner Patch Gardens to grow and eat fruit, vegetables, and herbs! This is one of several unique amenities that sets a Cornerstone Homes Community apart from other communities. There’s nothing as special and universal as sharing food with each other. Come visit and see first hand!
From all of us at Cornerstone Homes, happy summertime!
