Love Living in A Canterbury
There’s nothing quite like the love shared between sisters… At a Cornerstone Homes community, three sisters are sharing this love with each other living together in a Canterbury home. We caught up with Ruenette, Lorraine, and Elaine recently to hear their story of living together and how The Canterbury is the perfect home for all their lifestyle needs.
Before moving to the charming Villas at Ashlake in Chesterfield, Virginia, Ruenette, Lorraine, and Elaine lived together in New Jersey. Lorraine was more than eager to get out of the city. While she didn’t want to live without her sisters (and best friends), she knew she wanted a private and peaceful community to call home.
Soon enough, Elaine and Lorraine decided it was time to make the move as well.
Ruenette’s daughter and son-in law who lives near the Villas, knew the sisters were thinking of relocating. In searching communities in Virginia, they came across the virtual tour of the Canterbury and thought it would be perfect for them. Plus, it would be great to be close to their Mom and Aunts. They sent the virtual tour to Ruenette right away. And guess what? They loved it and made plans for a trip to see the home and check out the Villas at Ashlake community.
After touring the gorgeous home in person, Elaine immediately said, “Maybe you should have brought your checkbook to make a deposit,” to which Lorraine replied, “Don’t you worry, I got my checkbook!” And they were on their way to owning a Canterbury!
Moving from a 3-story home in New Jersey, they immediately loved the flexible space the Canterbury offered as well as a ton of storage areas. Each sister has their own bedroom and bath so privacy is never an issue. They love their Courtyard and enjoy their new patio furniture and doing some container gardening in the spring. The Great room is their gathering space to cook and share meals, entertain their family and new friends, or just relax.
Today, they still have a ton of space to fulfill all of their needs, and happily have almost all new furniture: “We right-sized alright!”
The Canterbury plan ranges from 1905 to 2487 square feet of luxury living. Option for an upstairs bonus loft with an additional full bath and more storage gives you additional space if needed. A light filled Great Room, kitchen and dining area all overlook your private outdoor courtyard. This home also features an office and four-season sunroom. The Canterbury is currently available at The Grove in Midlothian and The Farmstead at Chickahominy Falls in Hanover County. Click here to view the floor plan.
