We are happy to say 2021 has been a fantastic year for Cornerstone Homes! The past 12 months have brought so many great events, openings, and friendships, and it has truly been one of the most rewarding years we have had. From building in new areas of Virginia to introducing brand new amenities for our residents; from hosting fun events and social hours to being recognized at the prestigious MAME Awards - this year has brought progress, excitement, and many new homeowners to the Cornerstone family! Just like our residents, we have made countless new friends this year and we can't wait to continue building upon this great energy in the new year! 

Here's a recap of the wonderful things that happened at Cornerstone Homes in 2021!

Grand Opening of Church Square in Smithfield

It's been a few years since Cornerstone Homes had an actively selling community in the Tidewater/Hampton Roads area, and we're so happy to be back! Church Square is a boutique, 55+ community that offers award-winning floor plans and the perfect historic Smithfield location. Check it out! 

The Cove Sells Out

We're thrilled to announce that all homes are now sold in The Cove, located in Chester, VA! It’s been exciting to welcome so many residents home, and they are busy planning their first holiday social! 

Amenities Open at The Grove

Cornerstone Homes is known for our amazing, lifestyle-oriented amenities, and we're happy to say that the residents at The Grove at Lucks Lane are now fully enjoying them! Whether it's Corner Patch Gardens, the Pavilion with fireplace, grilling station and a beautiful outdoor setting, walking trails or the Corner Pup Park, residents love all that this vibrant community offers.

Social Fun at Barley Woods

Barley Woods in Fredericksburg has been a fast-selling community, and in 2021, the residents really knew how to have fun! They've already hosted so many social events in the Clubhouse, including wine clubs, a poker club, and holiday events. Only two homes remain!

A River of Progress at Chickahominy Falls

So much has happened in 2021 in the newest phase of this award-winning community! At River Falls at Chickahominy Falls, construction of the first homes has started, we opened the Corner Pup Patch, and the new Farmhouse (clubhouse) will be opening soon!  And, The Farmstead is nearly sold out of our award-winning villa homes!

Tuesdays at Two is a Hit

We've had so much fun creating these weekly Facebook videos and look forward to continuing them in 2022! We covered a lot of great content this year, including design tips with our in-house design specialist, Lori, tours of models and under-construction homes, homeowner interviews, and tips for starting your new home search. We love being a resource for our buyers and homeowners!

Vendor Appreciation

We invited all our vendors out to The Barn at Chickahominy Falls this summer to show our appreciation for the great work they do! Everyone enjoyed tasty bites from food trucks, refreshing drinks, axe throwing, and a good old-fashioned game of cornhole.

Launch of the Lexington Floor Plan

This fun floor plan allows you to tailor flex room options to create the exact space you need! Whether you need room for a home gym, craft space, library, or guest room — or all of the above — you can build it seamlessly when you choose the Lexington.

On the National Stage

Cornerstone Homes' owner, Roger Glover, spoke at the Future Place conference in Dallas about developing our award-winning, 55+ lifestyle communities. He said, "Our commitment is to focus all things we do on creating, engaging, healthy, mindful, and meaningful experiences for our residents. So, we always start every new community design and home design with that in mind. We've got to be the one to differentiate ourselves by creating that unique and memorable experience."

Happy Hours & Coffee Events

All of our communities hosted plenty of small, intimate events where our homeowners could drop by and meet their neighbors over drinks. We look forward to doing more of this in 2022!

Award-Winning Team & Communities

We were proud to be honored for so many of our achievements at the Major Achievements in Marketing Excellence (MAME) Awards in Richmond! “Best Community - 100 Homes or Less” went to The Cove at Magnolia Lakes, and Chickahominy Falls won “Best Community:  251-500 Homes.” Thanks to the entire team for working hard to make Cornerstone Homes such a stand-out builder!
