2020 has been an interesting year to say the least.   At Cornerstone Homes, our team has worked hard to see the glass half full this year. And despite the many challenges, we have been successful in continuing our mission to help active adults live healthier, happier, and more engaged lives. We welcomed 84 new homeowners to the Cornerstone family in 4 communities this year!

The entire team at Cornerstone Homes balanced work with the challenges of keeping safe and continuing to build homes and communities for active adults seeking a new lifestyle.   This year saw many award recognitions for our team members and our homes.

Chickahominy Falls – Virginia’s Community of the Year

Chickahominy Falls was awarded Virginia’s Community of the Year at the Home Builders Association of Virginia’s 2020 Housing Excellence Awards for its unique 55+ agri-community, Chickahominy Falls. “This development is truly unique, a blend of healthy living combined with fabulous site amenities creates a one of a kind experience that all of us appreciate and are most proud of,” said Susan Dibble, South Anna District Supervisor.  “Chickahominy Falls clearly reflects Hanover County’s vision to create a premier community for people and businesses to achieve their full potential and I am proud to work with Roger Glover and Cornerstone Homes to continue to grow this magnificent environment.”

The 10-acre heart and soul of Chickahominy Falls is locally and nationally recognized as the first agri-community farm in a 55+ community in Virginia. This four-season, professionally managed farm had another bountiful  season harvest growing a curated mix of fruits, vegetables, herbs, and flowers selected for their health and wellness benefits for people 55 and better. Our Farmers and their staff worked tirelessly to produce top quality, organically grown produce. And, the fruits of their labor have been enjoyed by the homeowners and community at large at the successful Farm stand where produce and other local items are sold weekly. 

Corner Patch Gardens

Located in all Cornerstone communities, this one-of-a-kind health and wellness amenity provides homeowners with fresh veggies, fruits & flowers.  The Gardens are a community social hub with hands-on demonstrations, seasonal food tastings, wine & cheese mixers and garden inspired gatherings all year long.
