Welcoming Neighbors to Their New Clubhouse for the First Time

It was a barn raising without all the heavy lifting at Chickahominy Falls that brought the community together for the first time in their new 5-star resort-styled clubhouse, The Farmhouse. Dating back to a Scandinavian tradition for old timber buildings, Geobarn’s lead builder, “topped out” the main buildings of The Farmhouse with white pine bows from neighboring woods. Traditionally marking substantial completion of a timber building, providing good luck for future occupants, continued growth, and a safe job, an evergreen was placed at the top gables of the clubhouse and fitness buildings. Following the official ceremony, nearly 150 guests in attendance raised a glass to celebrate the progress of the farmhouse.

The barn-styled clubhouse complex is a nod to farm life in Greater Richmond’s only agri-community, where nature and neighbors partner with a working farm at Chickahominy Falls. Over 15,000 square feet of interior and exterior spaces have been designed for those 55 and better in Chickahominy Falls to enjoy for years to come. “An outstanding team of professionals have worked tirelessly to hash out every detail to ensure the clubhouse provides the residents a place to thrive as a community and pays homage to the land on which it sits. A series of buildings much like one would see on a farm, will be the center of activity and add another feather in the cap to amenity spaces offered at ChickahominyFalls. The clubhouse, the largest barn structure, will boast a lovely great room with a two-sided fireplace, entertaining kitchen with farmhouse tables, billiards, meeting, and office spaces inside and a sweeping veranda, silo bar, fire pit, and event lawn with a stage for musical guests outside. Health and wellness will abound in the fitness building where equipment and spaces were specifically selected and designed for the 55+ demographic. The resort-style pool and pavilion will capture all the sun-seekers and shade lovers alike with plenty of space to enjoy the warm sunshine or relax in the shade.

Woodside Farms, celebrated Fall this past weekend too with an extended Farmstand, live music, partner vendors: RVAg and Garden Grove Winery and Brewery, as well as, our very own Woodside FarmsKitchen providing a delicious lunch. The annual Fall Fest on the Farm brought residents together on a beautiful fall afternoon. As the days shorten and the growing season winds down Woodside Farms will rejuvenate this winter with big plans for 2022.
