Cornerstone Homes has been solely focused on building homes and communities dedicated to the wellness, connection, and lifestyle of people 55+.  The Villas at Ashlake, located in Chesterfield, Virginia, has been sold out for over a year.   Construction crews are gone and the homeowners have all settled in to their forever homes and a life of freedom from yard work and maintenance.   

We recently went back for a visit to The Villas at Ashlake to see how life was in this special community filled with special people who are enjoying life to its fullest.   

Jewel and Wes were one of the first homeowners to move into the Villas at Ashlake in March of 2018. Cornerstone Homes finished the last homes about one year ago and Jewel said she doesn’t miss the construction but still thinks highly of Cornerstone and what they did to make her and her husband feel welcomed before they even moved in.  “Cornerstone built the Clubhouse first and sponsored fun activities right off the bat for the first homeowners to get to know each other before we moved in and after!” said Jewel.    They love their home, especially the single level living and no yard work.   However, the active lifestyle is the best part.  Jewel and her husband love the clubhouse and said it was the big key for them moving here.  They love the social events as well as meeting neighbors at the clubhouse.  “We will be glad when this Covid is over so we can get back up there,” said Jewel.  In the meantime, they are enjoying the well-lit sidewalks where they can walk and see their neighbors.    “We don’t want to slow down yet, and this is the perfect place for us!”

We then met up with Donna and Pete who love this move they made to the Villas at Ashlake.  They were both drawn to the “lock and leave” lifestyle that the Villas at Ashlake offered.   And this year they truly enjoyed their annual trip to Maine where they have second home.  For the first time, they had no worries about the yard or exterior maintenance of their home in Virginia.  “There is definitely less stress living here, not only because of the no maintenance lifestyle, but also because we are so close to everything we need and want. It’s a great location.  We also love living on one floor!” said Donna. She and her husband, Pete, looked for over a year for the right place.  They choose the Villas at Ashlake because of the location being close to family and loved the design of the homes and how the community was designed. “It’s smaller and surrounded by woods,” said Donna.  “We thought it would be a nice change, but now love it even more!  Life is good and we are enjoying life here!”
