Ashlake Design Center | Tips for Choosing Selections and Upgrades
Now that you have purchased a home in a Cornerstone Homes community, it is time to make it your own. This is, of course, one of the advantages of buying a new home. You have the opportunity to select features and finishes in our Design Center that reflect your own personality and lifestyle! Lori Melton, Sales Manager at the Villas at Ashlake, says, “It is our job to make your home everything you want it to be. This is what we do every day!”
Our Sales team is here to guide you and offer expert advice on not only design choice, but also how to best apply your budget. Our primary focus is your satisfaction and happiness. That’s why we get to know every one of our homeowners, and work hard to keep the home buying experience (especially the design process) completely personal, rewarding, and as fun as can be.
Our Design Center at the Villas at Ashlake is located in one of our Model Homes. There is a wide variety of sample selections available for you to touch, see, and experience, including carpet and hardwood samples, kitchen and bath tile, lighting choices, granite and quartz countertops, kitchen and bath cabinets, and more. Our model homes, which are professionally decorated by nationally known interior designers, will give you many ideas on decorating, furniture placement, and colors.
Here are some helpful tips on personalizing your new home, and choosing selections and upgrades during this exciting phase of your build process:
Do Your Homework
Start making a folder or Pinterest board with your favorite ideas and styles. All those episodes of HGTV are going to come in handy! This will help guide you through your choices.
Dream Home Must-Haves
What’s on your wish list? Light or Dark cabinets? Granite or Quartz countertops? Brushed Nickel or Oil Rubbed Bronze? Light or dark hardwood floors? Gray or beige tile? Now is the time to include everything that is important to you and we will work with you to get the most value for your budget.
Builder Time Line
Keep in mind that there are lots of moving pieces and parts to get your home completed and a very complex schedule involving many trade partners. It is very important to adhere to the schedule and make your decisions in a timely manner.
Budget
Know your budget for upgrades and determine areas of flexibility.
Preview Visit
Spend time in the Design Center prior to your scheduled appointment. This is the time to become familiar with our offerings and get a good idea of what you want in the big-ticket items such as cabinets and flooring. Once you have those nailed down, the rest will fall into place. Tour the Models again!
The Design Appointment
Dress comfortably. Bring your checkbook. And most importantly….. HAVE FUN! :)
Your Sales Manager will take you through the entire design process, so you can always trust that you’re in the hands of someone who knows you and your preferences well. Coming prepared will help make the process more enjoyable and smooth. Your retirement will be all about leisure and relaxation, so we ensure the design process will be too!
