Neighbors Helping Neighbors - Living in a Cornerstone Homes Community in These Times.
We are living in unprecedented times and we will only get through it by coming together. As a nation and in each community. Neighborly concern comes naturally in a Cornerstone Homes community. We talk a lot about living among your peers, close-knit communities, and neighbors looking out after neighbors. But the proof is in the pudding right now as we witness countless heartwarming stories of our homeowners coming together and taking care of each other in a moment of crisis.
For example, homeowners have reached out via Facebook to offer help to purchase groceries, alerting others where they can find toilet paper, picking up medications at local pharmacies, the list goes on. Because this pandemic is also making us all isolated, there is also a lot of encouraging and uplifting messages to each other through social media to boost spirits.
It’s hard to know what to do when stuck inside away from others. However, at our Barley Woods
community in Fredericksburg, VA, this did not stop the homeowners from getting creative and carrying on with their fun-loving spirit. They created a new kind of block party, “The 6pm Driveway Wave!” On a recent beautiful warm day, they descended on their driveways with chairs and beverages and chatted to each other across the street or across lawns. Beverages, music, and laughter was in the air. The clubhouse gatherings may be put on hold for a bit, but not the lively and fun atmosphere that permeates our communities!
Here are a few ways you can be a good neighbor and keep in contact with each other through this crisis.
Check in with your neighbors:
Give them a call to check in or leave a note on the front door. If you are going out, ask if they need something.
Start a neighborhood pod:
If you don’t already have one, a neighborhood Facebook page comprised of only neighbors. Or start a What’s App group to communicate. There is also Next door posting to share information.
FaceTime
It’s easy to FaceTime with your friends and family on Facebook. It’s almost as good as being there!!
Our families and neighborhoods are stronger, safer and healthier when we come together and take care of each other in moments of crisis. This moment calls on us to come together.
Thoughtful choices have never been more important. At Cornerstone Homes, the well-being of our
homeowners, employees and neighbors is and always will be our first priority. That’s why at Cornerstone Homes, we developed a new way to tour our model homes and get direct access to our Sales Managers. Live and in person, but from the safety and comfort of your home.
Currently our Sales Offices are open, by appointment. Of course, we are ensuring a safe environment
with a comprehensive protocol for safety during COVID-19. We sanitize thoroughly after every guest leaves the office and models.
Schedule Your Private or Virtual Appointment
“Everywhere we have something people are going to touch like our displays or water, we put sanitizer and ask them to please use it before they touch,” says Greg Smith, Sales Manager at Chickahominy Falls. Remember, to make a personal one-on-one appointment with us, even if it’s just 5 minutes before you arrive!
Stay healthy, keep in touch, and we hope to see you soon. Our communities offer thoughtfully designed homes for your active lifestyle and the most welcoming neighbors that you can find.
