Aging in Place Kitchen Designs

When moving to an active adult, 55+ maintenance free retirement community it is important to make sure all rooms in your home will be aging in place with you.  That is why our kitchens are designed to entertain and function - built-to-last. From beautiful granite counter tops with plenty of space, to state-of-the-art appliances built in at the right height, here are some examples from our Colonnade and Canterbury homes.   The Colonnade Available in our North Carolina Communities (Orchard Villas Apex & Villas of Wake Forest) and Virginia (Orchard Villas Roanoke) The view from your breakfast bar in the kitchen showcases the wide, open spaces - perfect for entertaining!  Granite counter tops are easy to clean and provide an elegant aging in place design at the right height.  Entertain your family, especially grandchildren while you are in the kitchen.  There is also plenty of counter space for storage, display, making room for any extra appliances you would like to have out.   Brand new kitchen appliances convey with The Colonnade!  These beautiful, Stainless Steal appliances really POP next to the dark brown wood cabinetry. Perfectly finished granite counter tops.  The Kitchen is also fitted with a double oven design - installed at the perfect height should mobility issues become a concern.  The kitchen also utilizes wide spaces, eliminating tight quarters that a lot of other homes seem to have.  Our homes are designed with adults, 55+ in mind - and the open floorplans of our homes only add to the active, social lifestyle you will find at all of our Cornerstone Homes Active Adult Communities.     The Canterbury Available in our North Carolina Communities (Orchard Villas Apex & Villas of Wake Forest) and Virginia (Orchard Villas Roanoke) Do you have a food processor, blender, toaster, toaster oven, AND would like to keep frequently used cooking utensils handy?  Can you have them all out in your current home?  You definitely can with your kitchen in The Canterbury.  Wide, open granite counter tops provide plenty of space for display and utilization of your favorite appliances.  You will also have plenty of cabinet space for storage and open counters.   One of the problems with older home designs is having the kitchen separate and tucked away from other living spaces.  At The Canterbury, that is no longer a problem.  Whether you're washing your hands, cleaning dishes or cooking a meal for your loved ones, the conversation can keep going!  Our kitchens also feature plenty of electrical outlets for appliances...or cell phone chargers.   Find your next home in North Carolina and Virginia at http://www.cornerstonehomes.net.
